Exercise Physiology

Exercise physiology is movement prescribed like any other treatment, so we assess what's going on, build a program around it and adjust as you go.

Tailored exercise programs to enhance strength, manage chronic conditions, and aid rehabilitation.

Who it suits

If any of these sound like you, it's worth a conversation.

  • You're managing a long-term condition such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis or arthritis
  • You're recovering from surgery or an injury and want to get moving again safely
  • You live with persistent pain and previous attempts at exercise have made it worse
  • You have a neurological condition such as Parkinson's disease or multiple sclerosis
  • Your GP has written you a Chronic Disease Management plan and referred you on
  • You want to get stronger but don't know where to start

What a session looks like

  1. Assessment

The first appointment is mostly questions and movement, covering your history, what you're trying to get back to, what hurts, what medications you're on, and a look at how you move now.

  2. Your program

You leave with a program written for you, and it accounts for your condition, the equipment you can get to and how much time you realistically have in a week.

  3. Working through it

Follow-up sessions are hands-on, so we load the program, correct technique and change whatever isn't working, and we measure your progress as we go so you can see it moving.
